HI those were the days of the Wild West saloons and the ladies who worked in them, like every thing in life there are good times and bad times and the Wild West would have had both. The saloon girl and the Calamity Jane type.
Saloon girls: Many of them were not prostitutes. Rather they were paid to dance with patrons and get them to buy drinks. They even split profits with the owners. They were able to make more than prostitutes and usually saw themselves as better.
Saloon doors: The kind some of us like to have in our modern day kitchen were designed to allow for ventilation inside the saloon and to a certain degree cover up the debauchery going on inside ( Is that what you do in the kitchen)!!, so that it would not easily be seen from the street. Full sized main doors were used to secure the property when closing the saloon at the end of the business day.

Known as the “Cowboy Capital of the World”, Bandera, Texas is a western-lovers dream. During the 19th century, Bandera sat at the southern end of the Great Western Cattle Trail Today, Bandera stills plays host to chuckwagon dinners, saloons, dude ranches, rodeos, and gunfight reenactments.
