Belle of the Ball
Hi there my lovely fans, it will soon be time to get out your shiny Baubles give them a quick polish and hang them somewhere (the Christmas tree). I know it is a bit early but people are already buying cards etc.
The reason I mention Christmas is I may be invited to some or even one Christmas Ball and this event is always something special. I love to wear glamorous clothes on these occasions they make me look and feel sexy. You can have anything you want if you dress for it.
What is the difference between a ball gown and an evening gown?
An evening dress is a special dress, usually a long one that a woman wears to a formal occasion in the evening. Although the terms are used interchangeably, ball gowns and evening gowns differ in that a ball gown will always have a full skirt and a fitted bodice, while an evening gown can be any silhouette sheath, mermaid, A-line, or trumpet shaped and may have an empire or dropped waist.
A cocktail dress is a dress suitable at semi formal occasions, sometimes called cocktail parties, usually in the late afternoon and usually with accessories. The idea of cocktail dresses first originated in a 1927 issue of Vogue and the style was defined as a short dress that is suitable for formal occasions i.e. something sophisticated that you can also let loose in. It is possible however to be too formal, so leave the gowns at home.
